A 25-year-old man, Herick Abdullahi, has been remanded in a correctional facility by a magistrate court in Ota, Ogun State, over allegations of armed robbery, conspiracy, and burglary. The court, presided over by Magistrate O.O. Fadairo, ordered the remand following a three-count charge brought against Abdullahi by the prosecution.
According to the prosecutor, E.O. Adaraloye, the alleged crimes took place on October 19, 2024, in the Onimalu Ilogbo community. Abdullahi, alongside accomplices, reportedly burgled the residence of Oni Samson, the complainant, and made off with valuables worth N1.3 million, including an iPhone 13.
The charges against Abdullahi are said to violate Sections 390(9), 401, and 516 of the Criminal Code Laws of Ogun State, 2006. Magistrate Fadairo declined to take the defendant’s plea and directed that the case file be forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice. The case has been adjourned to March 10 for further proceedings.
This development underscores the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to address criminal activities in the region. Further updates are expected as the case progresses.
