The 9th Legislative Council of Odeda Local Government has formally commended Senator Shuaib Afolabi Salisu, the Distinguished Senator representing Ogun Central, for his outstanding contributions to the development of the area. The commendation was made during the Council’s sitting on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, where members unanimously praised the Senator’s unwavering commitment to grassroots development and his efforts to bring the dividends of democracy to the people of Odeda Local Government.

In a letter addressed to the Senator, the Legislative Council highlighted several key projects initiated and executed by Senator Salisu, which have significantly impacted the lives of residents. These projects include:

1. Road Rehabilitation: The ongoing rehabilitation of the road along the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has brought immense relief to both residents and motorists, easing transportation challenges and improving accessibility in the area.

2. Provision of Street Solar Lights: Communities such as Bode Olude, Orile-Ilugun, Opeji, and Odeda have benefited from the installation of street solar lights, enhancing security and improving the quality of life for residents during nighttime.

3. Establishment of an ICT Center: Students of Nawair-ud-deen Grammar School, Obantoko, now have access to a state-of-the-art Information, Communication, and Technology (ICT) Center, which is expected to significantly boost their academic development and digital literacy.

The Council expressed its gratitude to Senator Salisu for his dedication and prayed for God’s continued guidance and wisdom to enable him to achieve even more for the people. However, in the spirit of Oliver Twist, the Council also appealed to the Senator to extend similar developmental projects to other wards and areas within the Local Government.

The commendation letter was signed by Hon. Adeyemi Rotimi, Leader of the Legislative House, who reiterated the Council’s appreciation for the Senator’s efforts and assured him of their continued support and collaboration.

Senator Shuaib Afolabi Salisu’s initiatives have been widely celebrated as a testament to his commitment to grassroots development and his vision for a more prosperous Ogun Central. The people of Odeda Local Government remain hopeful that more transformative projects will be implemented in the coming years.
