Veteran Nollywood actor Ṣegun Remi, widely known by his stage name Chief Kanran, has passed away at the age of 72.
The news was confirmed on Friday by celebrity journalist Seun Oloketuyi, who announced the actor’s death in an Instagram post.
Oloketuyi revealed that the Yoruba movie legend died on Friday morning, but did not disclose the cause of death.
Chief Kanran was a beloved figure in the Yoruba film industry, celebrated for his wit, unique acting style, and commanding presence on stage and screen.
Over the decades, he featured in numerous stage plays and movies, earning admiration from audiences and respect from colleagues.
