IBADAN – A community in Ibadan is in mourning following the sudden and tragic death of a 28-year-old nurse, who collapsed and died on Tuesday morning just moments after completing her school-day routine with her young twin daughters.
The incident was first brought to public attention in a social media post by Mr Remi Koleoso, who narrated the heartbreaking sequence of events.
According to the account, the deceased began her day in high spirits, described as being “jovial” and singing gospel songs while preparing her twin daughters for school. After serving her family breakfast and seeing her children off on their school bus, she had set the dining table for her husband.
The first sign of trouble emerged when her husband joined her at the table and found her sitting uncomfortably. She reportedly complained of a sudden, severe headache. Merely five minutes later, upon hearing the horn of the vehicle that had arrived to take her to work, she kissed her husband goodbye, intending to seek medication for her pain upon arrival at the hospital.
Tragically, she collapsed just as she was stepping out of the house. Despite the rapid turn of events, she was pronounced dead.
In a cruel twist of fate, the vehicle that had arrived to transport her to her place of work was instead used to convey her body to the mortuary.
The young healthcare professional leaves behind her grieving husband and her twin daughters. The story has sparked an outpouring of sympathy online, with many expressing shock and sorrow over the unpredictable nature of the loss.
The cause of the sudden illness is currently unknown.
