SAGAMU – The Articulate Motorcycle Owners & Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN), Ogun State Chapter, has expressed profound sadness over the fatal accident on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway that occurred on Sunday.

The crash resulted in the deaths of two individuals, Mr. Ayodele Kelvin Olu and Mr. Gami Sina, and left several others injured, including renowned boxer Anthony Joshua.

In a press statement issued on Tuesday, the association extended its deepest condolences to the families of the deceased and joined well-wishers globally in wishing Anthony Joshua a full and speedy recovery.

AMORAN specifically commended Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for his “exemplary and hands-on leadership” in the incident’s aftermath. The association highlighted the Governor’s prompt personal visit to the hospital as a critical measure that ensured careful management and prevented further complications.

The statement also praised the “swift and professional response” of traffic management and emergency officers at the scene, noting that their coordinated efforts were crucial for the rescue operation and immediate medical care.

Otunba Taofeek Sokoya, the State Chairman of AMORAN, signed the statement. He reiterated the association’s commitment to road safety advocacy, stating, “We pray earnestly to Almighty God that such tragedies become a thing of the past on our roads… We reiterate our commitment to continue advocating for and practising safe riding and responsible road usage.”

The association concluded with a prayer for the peaceful repose of the souls lost in the tragic incident.
