Mowe – Ogun State: In a dramatic turn of events, popular Yoruba Nollywood actor Babatunde Tayo, widely known as Baba Tee, has publicly admitted to having a brief sexual encounter with Dara, the wife of comedian and skit maker Ganiyu Morufu, aka Ijoba Lande. This confession comes after weeks of denial and legal threats against Lande, who had accused Baba Tee of being involved with his wife.
Baba Tee made the revelation during a live interview with socialite Esabod and other TikTok influencers on Sunday. His admission contradicted his earlier statements, where he vehemently denied the allegations and challenged Lande to provide evidence or face legal consequences for defamation.
The controversy began when Lande, in a recent interview, claimed that his wife left him after he discovered her alleged infidelity. He further alleged that at least 21 men in the entertainment industry, including Baba Tee, were involved with her. Lande had specifically named Baba Tee in an Instagram post and a viral interview, sparking widespread debate.
Initially, Baba Tee refuted the claims, stating that he had only met Dara once, through actress Marigold, who introduced her as a content creator and upcoming artiste. He claimed he was unaware of her marital status until he overheard a conversation between her and Marigold.
However, in a surprising twist, Baba Tee confessed that the encounter occurred during a game of ‘Truth or Dare’ at his home. He explained that Marigold and Dara visited him unannounced, and the game escalated after Marigold dared Dara to engage in a brief sexual act with him. Baba Tee admitted that alcohol played a role in the incident, which he described as unintended and regrettable.
“Marygold dared Dara to let me have a quick sexual encounter with her, and she agreed. I initially denied it because I didn’t know she was Lande’s wife. But I won’t lie; it happened, and I take responsibility,” Baba Tee stated during the interview. He also suggested that the situation might have been a setup to tarnish his reputation.
Following the revelation, Esabod urged Baba Tee to apologize to Lande, emphasizing that the incident amounted to a betrayal. Shortly after the interview, Baba Tee took to his official Facebook page on Monday to issue a heartfelt apology to Lande.
“I am deeply sorry from the bottom of my heart, brother Lande. I had no idea Dara was your wife. Hmmm. I fear women,” Baba Tee wrote.
Marigold, who is reportedly Lande’s manager, has also been implicated in the scandal, with allegations that she recorded the encounter between Baba Tee and Dara. The incident has sparked heated discussions online, with many calling for accountability and reconciliation among the parties involved.
