ABEOKUTA — In a major move to strengthen grassroots administration, Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has presented brand-new Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) to all 20 Local Government Chairmen in the state.
The presentation was made in Abeokuta on Thursday through the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr Ganiyu Hamzat.
Governor Abiodun praised the council bosses for their efforts in bringing democratic dividends to the grassroots and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to collaboration aimed at improving citizens’ welfare.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, the Ogun State ALGON Chairman and Odeda Local Government Chairperson, Dr Mrs. Afolasade Adeyemo, thanked the governor for fulfilling his pledge.
She hailed Governor Abiodun’s achievements across sectors such as education, housing, health, and infrastructure, noting that his ISEYA mantra has positioned Ogun State as a model.
The chairpersons affirmed that the new vehicles will significantly enhance their mobility and effectiveness in serving rural communities and addressing local needs.
