Governor Abiodun Appoints 50 Aides to Boost Grassroots Governance in Odeda

ODEDA – In a significant move to deepen governance at the grassroots, Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun CON, has appointed fifty (50) new Senior Political Assistants for Odeda Local Government Area.

The new appointees, carefully selected from across all ten wards of the council, were officially inaugurated in a swearing-in ceremony held in Odeda on Monday, September 8th, 2025.

The Executive Chairman of Odeda Local Government, Hon. (Dr.) Folasade Adeyemo, presided over the event. In her keynote address, she described the appointments as a “deliberate strategy by the State Government to ensure effective grassroots engagement, policy communication, and community mobilisation.”

Dr. Adeyemo clarified that the initiative is not a “political jamboree,” but a crucial step to strengthen the administration and serve the people. She stated that the appointees will act as a vital bridge between the government and the citizens, tasked with promoting policies, gathering feedback, and serving as ambassadors of peace and progress.

The Chairman extended her profound gratitude to Governor Abiodun for his visionary leadership and for approving the appointments, which she noted are aligned with the administration’s “ISEYA” mantra.

Charging the new aides, Dr Adeyemo emphasised that their appointment is a call to selfless service. She outlined their core responsibilities, which include:

· Promoting the policies and programmes of the state government.
· Maintaining close contact with grassroots communities and relaying their concerns.
· Upholding the principles of loyalty, transparency, and accountability.
· Serving as the “backbone of our political engine.”

The Chairman also acknowledged the support of the party leadership, elders, and stakeholders, crediting them for the administration’s successes.

At the event, Vice chairman, Hon. Adigun Yaya, Secretary to the local government, Hon. Gbenro Adebayo, GLO at the local government, Hon. Musilu Akindele, We have the leader of the house, Hon. Rotimi Adeyemi, Hon. Kazeem Tiyamiu, deputy leader of the house, Hon. Semilore Ebenizer, Majority leader of the house, APC Party chairman, Hon. Saka Musulumi, Secretary of the party, Hon. mufutau Oguntola, Youth leader of the party, Hon. Timothy Odedina, Hon. Muinat Lawal, Mr Ayodeji Michael, HOLGA of the local government,, Woman Leader of the party, ALGON Admin Secretary, Olori Esther Adeola Oyetunde and other people.

The appointees were grateful to the governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for allowing them to serve their people in the community.

The event concluded with the newly inaugurated aides taking their oaths of office.

The ceremony was attended by party leadership, elders, stakeholders, and community members, who were all thanked for their unwavering support and guidance.

The inauguration of the fifty aides marks a renewed commitment by the Ogun State government to ensure that its developmental agenda is effectively communicated and felt at the most local level.
