In a move to strengthen the Civil and Public Service in Ogun State, Governor Dapo Abiodun, CON, has approved the appointment of four new Permanent Secretaries. The newly appointed officials include *Mrs. Tokunbo-Peters Oluwabukola Aderonke* and *Mr. Adejumo Babajide Adeyemi*, alongside *Dr. Ogunsanya Wellington Olaitan* and *Mr. Abdul Suraj Olubamiro*, whose appointments were announced in November 2024.

The announcement was made by the State Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya, who emphasized that the appointments were made in line with Section 208(c) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended). The selection process prioritized merit, professionalism, and inclusiveness, with the appointees emerging from the Ogun State Pipeline Leadership Development Programme, a key requirement for top leadership roles in the State Civil/Public Service.

Mrs. Tokunbo-Peters, who joined the Ogun State Civil Service on September 23, 1993, previously served as the Director of Tourism Development and Promotions at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Olabisi Onabanjo University (formerly Ogun State University). Mr. Adejumo, appointed on December 1, 2000, was the Director of Administration and Supplies at the Bureau of Political Affairs and Administration. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from the University of Ibadan in 1995.

The Head of Service urged the new appointees to demonstrate dedication and selflessness in their roles, aligning with Governor Abiodun’s ‘Building Our Future Together’ agenda. They are expected to contribute significantly to the development of a more efficient and progressive Civil/Public Service in the state.

The swearing-in ceremony for the new Permanent Secretaries will be conducted by Governor Abiodun at a date to be announced soon.
