ODOGBOLU LOCAL GOVERNMENT – In celebration of his first 365 days in office, the legislator representing Ward 3, Okun-Owa in Odogbolu Local Government Honourable Hammed Yusuf Moboluwaduro (popularly known as HYM), disbursed ONE MILLION NAIRA in empowerment funds to party faithfuls amongst others, thus reaffirming his commitments to grassroots development through consistent initiatives.
The event, which also served as an anniversary celebration of his legislative mandate, provided a platform for the lawmaker to present the scorecard of his activities and highlight projects he had facilitated across the constituency
*Legislative Focus and Achievements*
Addressing supporters, Hon. HYM highlighted his work in the legislative chamber, including the sponsorship of law providing Public-Private Partnership (PPP) arrangements, aimed at boosting infrastructure development. He also detailed his role as a co-sponsor on many other legislative bills and his active motion-making at the council’s legislative chamber
“I have moved several motions targeted at the progressive development of Odogbolu Local Government, with specific focus on Ward 3 areas such as Okun Owa, Odolowu, Ijesha Ijebu, and Araromi Ake,” he stated.
Facilitated Projects and Development Drivers
The lawmaker listed a series of projects he has proposed or facilitated within his first year, demonstrating a multi-sectoral approach to development:
· Healthcare: Rehabilitation/Construction of the Ijesha Ijebu Health Centre.
· Water Access: Provision of a motorised borehole with an overhead tank at Araromi-Ake.
· Commerce: Facilitation of the Okun-Owa Sabo 5-day market and the Ijesha Ijebu everyday market to boost local trade.
· Infrastructure: Initiation of roadside drainage construction on the left and right sides of Owa Road to combat erosion.
· Education & Agriculture: Ongoing student educational support programs and the promotion of agricultural initiatives to empower farmers.
The empowerment ceremony, where the one million naira was distributed, was met with appreciation from beneficiaries, who praised the home grown councilor for translating his promises into tangible actions and visible support.
