The Executive Chairman of Ifo Local Government, Hon. Idris Kusimo, marked this year’s Children’s Day with a special visit to children living with HIV/AIDS at Ifo General Hospital, offering them financial assistance and words of encouragement.
The event, held on Tuesday, was part of efforts to promote inclusivity and support for vulnerable children. Hon. Kusimo, accompanied by council officials and healthcare workers, interacted with the children, engaging them in games and music to uplift their spirits.
In his address, the chairman emphasized that every child deserves love, care, and equal opportunities, regardless of health status. He urged the children to remain hopeful and focused on their education and future ambitions.
“No child should feel alone or stigmatized. Our administration is committed to improving healthcare and ensuring that all children in Ifo thrive,” he said.
Hon. Kusimo also praised the hospital’s medical staff for their dedication to HIV/AIDS care and pledged continued government support to enhance healthcare services and reduce stigma.
Parents and caregivers at the event expressed gratitude for the gesture, describing it as a morale booster for the children.
Among the attendees were the Vice Chairman, Hon. Abibat Ojo; the Leader of the Legislative Council, Hon. Samuel Bamigboye; and healthcare officials, including Dr. Soetan Olufemi, Chief Medical Director of Ifo State Hospital.
