Ijebu East Local Government, Ogun State* – The All Progressives Congress (APC) core loyalists in Ijebu East Local Government have issued a strong disclaimer in response to a recent press release by Hon. Deko Onamusi, a former member of the House of Representatives, regarding the political dynamics within the APC in Ogun State.

In a statement signed by Victor Adebimpe of Ijebu Imushin Ward 1, on behalf of the APC Core Loyalists in Ijebu East LG, the group described Hon. Onamusi’s claims as “misleading, self-serving, and baseless,” urging the public to disregard them.

The statement emphasized that Hon. Onamusi lacks the authority and pedigree to speak on behalf of the Ijebu East APC, noting that he is not recognized as a major leader at either the local government or state level. It further highlighted his inability to control his own ward, Ijebu-Itele Ward 7, let alone the entire local government.

The group also refuted insinuations of any conflict between Senator Adeola Olamilekan Yayi, representing Ogun West, and His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun (CON), the Governor of Ogun State. According to the statement, both leaders are committed to the progress of Ogun State and are working harmoniously within the APC. Senator Yayi is focused on delivering democratic dividends to his constituents, while Governor Abiodun continues to execute transformative projects across the state, including in Ijebu East.

The statement further criticized Hon. Onamusi, describing him as an “insatiable opportunist” working with disruptive elements outside the party. It challenged him to provide evidence of any persecution of Senator Yayi’s supporters in Ijebu East, stating that no such cases exist.

The APC loyalists reaffirmed their unwavering support for Governor Dapo Abiodun and his administration, praising his legacy projects and leadership. They also reiterated Senator Yayi’s dedication to serving the people of Ogun West, noting that he has not interfered in the affairs of Ijebu East.

In conclusion, the group warned the public to be wary of Hon. Onamusi’s actions, which they described as attempts to sow discord and create unnecessary tension within the APC. They accused him of being a “jeun jeun parasitic” figure who has consistently failed to contribute to the party’s success on election days.

The statement ended with a stern message: “Buyers Beware!”
