IPOKIA – The Executive Chairman of Ipokia Local Government, Hon. Johnson Akohomeh Avoseh, has presided over a board meeting of the Ipokia Local Government Health Authority, directing a new monthly schedule for the meetings to enhance the coordination of healthcare services across the council area.
The meeting, held at the Ipokia Local Government Secretariat, was attended by all directors and heads of departments within the Health Authority. They were led by the Health Secretary, Dr Akindele Adebayo.
Key personnel present included Mr Edun Olusegun, the Local Government Immunisation Officer; Malam Yusuf L.O., the Acting Director of Health Education and Promotion; Mrs Agboyinu Omolala, the DGSA; and Mr Bankole Olusola, the Supervisor for Health and Medical.
During the session, directors from various departments, including Community Health Development, Social Welfare and Mobilisation, and Reproductive Health and Family Planning, presented detailed reports on their achievements, challenges, and ongoing projects from the past few months.
In his address, Chairman Avoseh commended the departments for their dedication, particularly highlighting successes in immunisation drives and public health education campaigns. He also acknowledged the support of the State Governor, His Excellency Prince (Dr.) Dapo Abiodun, CON, for the health sector.
The Chairman provided an update on the construction of four Primary Healthcare Centres within the local government, located in Tube, Ifonyintedo, Idiroko, and Ajegunle. He confirmed that the projects, which include equipping and fencing, are currently at various stages of completion.
Hon. Avoseh assured the officials that all concerns and requests raised during the meeting would be duly addressed.
A key resolution from the meeting was the decision to hold the Health Authority board meetings monthly goin the futureThis is to ensure regular appraisal and improved coordination of the local government’s 33 health centres, 31 of which are currently operational.
The meeting concluded with votes of appreciation to all participants for their commitment.
