In a proactive move to bolster security, the Executive Chairman of Obafemi Owode Local Government Area, Amb. Adesina ‘Lanre Ogunsola, FCPA, has called on residents to be more security-conscious and collaborate closely with law enforcement agencies.

The charge was given during a town hall meeting held in Ajebo Town, organised to address recent concerns over kidnapping and banditry in the area. Ogunsola emphasised the government’s commitment to securing lives and property and urged residents to maintain a strong relationship with the Nigeria Police Force, Amotekun, vigilante groups, and other security agencies.
“It is essential to build synergy and share timely information, especially regarding suspicious movements or persons without proper identification,” Ogunsola stated.
The Chairman warned against the leakage of security information to criminals and assured that the police are working to apprehend those responsible for recent kidnappings. He also promised enhanced logistical support for local security groups, including the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, So-safe Corps, and Hunters Motorcycles.
In response, the Olu of Ajebo, Oba Reuben Oluwole, thanked the Chairman for his intervention and affirmed the community’s readiness to work with security agencies to achieve a kidnap-free environment. He encouraged residents to report individuals with no lawful means of livelihood.
The meeting was attended by key stakeholders, including the Divisional Police Officer of Owode Egba, DSP Akinwande, local councillors, supervisors, traditional leaders, and community representatives.
Ogunsola later visited Macpherson University and a local church to discuss further collaborative security measures.
