The Executive Chairman of Obafemi Owode Local Government, Amb. Adesina ‘Lanre Ogunsola, FCPA, has marked his first year in office by presenting a detailed account of his administration’s stewardship, fulfilling core electioneering promises to the people.

In a media chat, the council boss expressed satisfaction with his administration’s delivery of democratic dividends across all sectors, wards, and towns in the local government.
Reflecting on the year’s accomplishments, Amb. Ogunsola highlighted significant strides in infrastructural development. A key achievement is the construction of two blocks of 10 classrooms with office and toilet facilities in Maba Town, a project described as the first of its kind among sister local governments in the state.
His administration also complemented the efforts of Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, through several other projects, including:
· Construction of asphalt Ogidan Road Phase 1 in Owode-Egba.
· Rehabilitation of the Health Centre at Moloko Asipa.
· Provision of a Motorized Borehole at Aderupatan Village.
· Rehabilitation of the Legislative Chamber in Owode.
· Printing of free exercise books for public primary schools.
· Grading of over 120 kilometers of roads across the 12 wards, with more grading scheduled after the rainy season.
International Recognition and Investment Drive
In a significant development, Amb. Ogunsola is set to embark on an official international visit to Dover, Delaware, in the United States of America. The trip is in response to an official invitation from the Honourable Robin R. Christiansen, Mayor of Dover.
The visit, themed “Bridging Communities through Friendship, Leadership and Cultural Exchange,” is scheduled for Monday, November 24, 2025, at the Dover City Hall. A key objective is to facilitate foreign investment into Ogun State, with a specific focus on Obafemi Owode Local Government.
According to an invitation letter from the Dover Mayor’s office, the visit is a “valuable opportunity to strengthen the relationship between our communities, share ideas and explore avenues for mutual cooperation.”
During the event, Chairman Ogunsola will be decorated with the Prestigious Leadership and Friendship Award by Mayor Christiansen. In a move aligning with the state government’s push, he will showcase the local government’s potential, promoting Adire fabric, cultural heritage, and agricultural prospects. The Chairman is expected to wear a full attire made of Adire for the ceremony.
The visit will also feature cultural exchanges and gift presentations, including art sculptures, aimed at showcasing Obafemi Owode to a global audience and harnessing benefits from international partnerships.
Future Projects and Call for Support
Looking ahead, Amb. Ogunsola reassured residents of upcoming projects, including the construction of Kobape Township Road, Adigbe Idi Mongoro Road, Cele Road in Owode Egba, and the Mowe Market Road leading to the Express Way.
He solicited continued cooperation and support from the people, particularly in the prompt payment of all levies to the local government’s coffers, to enable the execution of more developmental projects.
