OBANTOKO, Odeda Local Government – In a festive gesture of goodwill and community engagement, the Chairman of Odeda Local Government and State Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Hon. Dr. Folasade Adeyemo, on Tuesday visited her home constituency in Ward Seven, Obantoko, distributing cash gifts and bags of rice to residents.

The event, which drew a large crowd of beneficiaries, saw the council boss reiterate her commitment to grassroots development and ensuring that the dividends of democracy directly impact her constituents.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Adeyemo enumerated key projects her administration has already delivered within the ward. These include the drilling and installation of new motorized boreholes with generators at Akingbade (Obantoko), comprehensive renovation of the water facility at Ilupeju Alagbede, and the renovation of the Local Government Marriage Registry in Gbonagun.

She also highlighted ongoing welfare programs, such as targeted distributions of food and cash support aimed at empowering youths and supporting the elderly.

In her remarks, Chairman Adeyemo extended profound gratitude to the State Governor, His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, for his leadership. “The enabling environment created by Governor Dapo Abiodun has been instrumental to our successes at the grassroots level. We are proud to be effective soldiers in his mission to develop every part of Ogun State,” she stated.

The Chairman reassured the community that the achievements of her first year in office are merely a foundation, pledging a continued focus on more transformative projects in the coming years.

Responding on behalf of the members, several ward leaders expressed appreciation. Mr. Samsodeen Yusuf, speaking for the Ward Executives, thanked the Chairman for her consistent support. Other residents, including Mr. Akeem Adeniji (aka Koseyan), Mr. Yunus Yusuf (aka Motion Pictures), and Alhaja Abeni Hazan, praised the gesture and pledged their continued support for her administration.

The Ward Vice Chairman, Mr. Samsondeen Yusuf, also commended Governor Abiodun for appointing five members of the ward into various positions within the state.

Earlier in the day, Dr. Adeyemo had met with the spouses of Odeda LGA political functionaries at the council secretariat, where she commended them for being strong pillars of support. The delegation, led by the Wife of the Vice Chairman, Mrs. Adigun, thanked the Chairman for her leadership and encouragement.
