Abeokuta – The Chairman of Odeda Local Government and the State Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Hon. Dr. Folasade Adeyemo, was honored with a distinguished governance award on Saturday, January 10, 2026.
The award was presented by the Redemption Mission Group during its empowerment a d award ceremony held in the Government Reserved Area (GRA), Abeokuta. The event was attended by a host of dignitaries, including the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Daisi Elemide,the leader of Odeda local government legislative arms, Hon. Rotimi Adeyemi, fellow politicians, and community leaders.
The group cited Dr. Adeyemo’s outstanding administrative record and transformative leadership in Odeda Local Government as the rationale for the recognition. Since taking office, her tenure has been marked by notable initiatives in grassroots development, education, healthcare, and infrastructure.
Expanding on the Awardee’s Profile:
Hon. Dr. Folasade Adeyemo holds a Doctorate degree and has served as the first female Chairman of Odeda Local Government. In her dual role as Ogun State ALGON Chairman, she oversees and coordinates the activities of all 20 Local Government Areas in the state. She is widely recognized for her proactive approach to community engagement, revenue reform, and sustainable development projects that have directly improved living standards within her constituency.
In her acceptance remarks, Dr. Adeyemo dedicated the award to the people of Odeda and the entire local government workforce. “This recognition is a challenge to do more. Our commitment remains unwavering in delivering purposeful governance and uplifting our communities at the grassroots level,” she stated.
The Redemption Mission Group, in its citation, praised her integrity, innovation, and dedication to public service. “Dr. Adeyemo exemplifies the kind of leadership that bridges the gap between government and the governed. Her results are evident, and she is a worthy model,” a representative of the group said.
The event also saw awards presented to other notable leaders, including the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Daisi Elemide, and the House of Representatives member for Abeokuta North/Obafemi-Owode/Odeda Federal Constituency, Hon. Olumide Osoba.
