by Adebayo Kazeem

The Ogun State Environmental Protection Agency (OGEPA) has called on its zonal officers across the state to redouble their efforts in service delivery, assuring them of the government’s commitment to providing necessary logistics and a conducive work environment.

Hon. Farouk Akintunde, Special Adviser to the Ogun State Government on OGEPA, issued the charge during an inspection tour of the agency’s zonal and area offices in Sagamu, Agbara-Igbesa, and Ado-Odo-Ota Local Government Areas. The visit was aimed at assessing operational challenges and reaffirming the government’s support for improved efficiency.

Akintunde emphasized that the inspection provided firsthand insight into the working conditions of field officers, stating, *”Today’s visit has afforded me the opportunity to assess the state of these zonal and area offices. We are committed to making them more conducive to enhance our officers’ productivity.”*

He further assured staff of imminent upgrades to office facilities and additional logistical support, including stipends, to boost morale and performance.

In response, Mrs. Funmilola Onabolu, Senior Zonal Officer in Sagamu, expressed appreciation on behalf of her colleagues, pledging renewed dedication to the agency’s mandate.

The move underscores OGEPA’s drive to strengthen environmental governance through enhanced workforce efficiency.
