The Ogun State House of Assembly has invited the management teams of the State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, led by Commissioner Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, to appear before the Assembly on Thursday, January 23rd at 2:00 pm. The invitation also extends to the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), the State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), the Head of Technical and Vocational Education Board, and the State Civil Service Commission.

In a separate development, the Assembly paid glowing tributes to the late Deputy Chief Whip of the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga, who represented Sagamu/Ikenne and Remo North Federal Constituency. The lawmakers described her as a quintessential leader whose representation brought tremendous developments to her constituency.¹

Speaker Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide led the tributes, noting that Hon. Onanuga’s death would create a vacuum that would be difficult to fill. She was praised for being a bridge between generations, a generous political leader with humility, and for positively impacting her constituents.

The Assembly also eulogized the mother of renowned Fuji musician Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde, Alhaja Halimat Saddiyah Anifowose, who passed away last week. She was described as a great mother who lived a life of outstanding accomplishments, with one of her children being a celebrated Fuji maestro. The Assembly observed a minute of silence in honour of the two departed Nigerians.
