The Ogun State House of Assembly has passed a resolution urging the State Government to immortalize the late Hon. Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga, former Deputy Chief Whip of the House of Representatives. The resolution, sponsored by Hon. Damilare Bello of Sagamu Constituency I, calls for the renaming of the Court Junction-Simawa Road and other projects in her honor. Lawmakers praised Onanuga as a distinguished daughter of the state who made significant contributions to its development.

In addition, the Assembly paid glowing tributes to four other eminent Nigerians from the state who recently passed away. These include Late Chief Ogooluwa Adio Bankole, a pioneer industrialist who established the first paint industry in Ifo Local Government Area; Pa Ayo Adebajo, a renowned political leader and NADECO founding member; Oba Adedeji Olusegun Onagoruwa, the Alaye of Odogbolu; and late Senator Solomon Ayodeji Otegbola, a respected political leader from Ogun West Senatorial District. The lawmakers observed a minute of silence in their honor.
