The Ogun State Government has reassured aluminium recycling operators of its commitment to providing an enabling environment for their businesses to thrive across the state.

The assurance was given by the General Manager of the Ogun State Environmental Protection Agency (OGEPA), Hon. Kehinde Bello, during a meeting with representatives of the Aluminium Recyclers Association in his office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

Bello stated that the engagement aimed to strengthen collaboration, address operational challenges, and foster unity within the recycling sector. He highlighted the dual benefits of recycling—reducing environmental pollution and generating employment opportunities for residents.

“We are committed to supporting harmony among members and ensuring a level playing field for all operators,” Bello affirmed.

The OGEPA boss also urged the association to adhere strictly to environmental regulations, particularly concerning waste disposal and emission control. This, he noted, would prevent health risks to host communities and promote sustainable operations.

In response, the Chairman of the Aluminium Recyclers Association, Alhaji Kamoru Mudashiru, thanked the agency for the dialogue and pledged the association’s full cooperation in maintaining a cleaner, safer, and healthier environment in Ogun State.

The meeting marks a step toward enhanced partnership between the state government and private recyclers, aligning economic growth with environmental stewardship.
