The Executive Chairman of Obafemi Owode Local Government, Amb. Adesina Lanre Ogunsola, FCPA, today received Rt. Hon. Olumide Osoba, Member of the Federal House of Representatives and Chairman of the House Committee on Justice, during a courtesy visit to the local government secretariat in Owode Egba.
Hon. Osoba commended the council chairman for the ongoing road grading projects across various wards, emphasizing their significant impact on farmers and road users. He noted that the improved road networks have facilitated the transportation of farm produce to markets, thereby enhancing food security in the state.
The federal lawmaker expressed his commitment to partnering with the local government to drive more developmental projects. He reiterated his vision of improving the lives of his constituents through robust legislation and effective representation at the federal level.
In his response, Amb. Ogunsola praised Hon. Osoba for his contributions to the local government, including rural electrification projects, the installation of street lights, the construction of schools and health centres, and the ongoing Town Hall project in Egbeda. The chairman expressed his administration’s readiness to collaborate further with Hon. Osoba, humorously stating, “Like Oliver Twist, we pray for more of these projects, sir.”
Amb. Ogunsola also highlighted some of his administration’s achievements within its first 100 days in office, such as the refurbishment of the Legislative Chamber, road grading and rehabilitation, production of over 1,500 exercise books for public primary schools, and the distribution of 3,000 gas cylinders to vulnerable women across the local government. He assured residents that more projects would be executed in line with his campaign promises.
The visit coincided with the retirement ceremony of Mrs. Titilayo Ademuyiwa, the Treasurer of Obafemi Owode Local Government, which was attended by dignitaries from both political and professional spheres.
The event underscored the collaborative efforts between the local and federal governments to drive sustainable development in Obafemi Owode.
