The Member representing Abeokuta North, Obafemi-Owode/Odeda Federal Constituency, Hon. Olumide Osoba, has distributed motorcycles, generators and freezers to youths and community members across the three local government areas as part of his empowerment programme.

The beneficiaries, drawn from the three local governments, included party youth leaders, members of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), physically challenged individuals and other community youths.

Speaking at the event held at Ataba Close, GRA Abeokuta, Hon. Osoba described the gesture as part of the Renewed Hope Ramadan/Lent Giveaway in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Ward Outreach initiative.

He noted that the empowerment programme was aimed at strengthening economic activities and promoting self-reliance among the youth population in his constituency.

Notably, the Youth Leaders of the three local governments — Abeokuta North, Obafemi-Owode, and Odeda — each received a motorcycle to enhance their mobility and effectiveness in coordinating youth affairs within their respective councils.

Also benefiting from the outreach were representatives of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) from the three local governments, Student Union leaders, party members, and persons with disabilities.

Speaking at the event, the APC Chairman for Obafemi-Owode Local Government, Chief Idowu Emmanuel Olude, noted that this was not the first time Hon. Osoba had embarked on such an empowerment initiative.

He urged the beneficiaries not to sell the items but to make good use of them, while praying that God would continue to bless the lawmaker.

Also speaking, the Odeda Local Government APC Chairman, Hon. Musulumi, echoed the sentiments of his colleague, advising beneficiaries to see the opportunity as a call to empower themselves.

“Do not believe you are the only one that qualifies for this; it is your opportunity to empower yourself,” he said.

He prayed for Hon. Osoba and commended the job he is doing in the constituency.

Alhaja Faidat Akintunde Sarumi also praised the lawmaker, stating that he has represented his father well. She recalled that they had visited the constituency eight times last year for similar programmes, describing Hon. Osoba as a true representative of his father, His Excellency Olusegun Osoba, the former Governor of Ogun State.

Youth Leaders from the three local governments — Comrade Timothy Odedina, Comrade Solomon Akibo and Comrade Malik Soneye — were present at the event.

Also in attendance were Hon. Daramola Soneye, representing Obafemi-Owode State Constituency at the Ogun State House of Assembly, and the Odeda Local Government Supervisor, Hon. Gbenro Adebayo, who prayed for Hon. Osoba and commended his commitment to youth empowerment.

The initiative further reflects Hon. Olumide Osoba’s strong commitment to youth empowerment, inclusive participation, and the advancement of the Renewed Hope agenda across his federal constituency.
