A newborn baby was on Thursday reportedly rescued from a pit latrine by a passer-by in Kagara, Niger State.
Reports said the abandoned baby, who was left for dead by her callous mother was heard crying from the latrine.
It was further gathered that the passers-by who heard her crying promptly rescued her from the jaws of death.
The baby had been cleaned up and she is in good condition.
