Senator Adeola, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations and representative of Ogun West Senatorial District, has expressed deep shock and sadness over the passing of elder statesman and Third Republic federal lawmaker, Senator Solomon Ayodeji Otegbola.
The late Senator Otegbola, a renowned chartered surveyor and the Asiwaju of Aworiland passed away after a brief illness. His son, Mr. Wale Otegbola, announced his demise on February 17, 2025.
In a heartfelt condolence message to the family of the deceased, Senator Adeola described the late Otegbola as a competent parliamentarian, a fearless politician, and a real estate mogul whose contributions to politics, economics, and culture would be deeply missed.
“I received the news of the passing of Senator Otegbola with shock and sadness. He was a fearless politician and public servant who always put the interests of the people first in all his political endeavours. His contributions to the development of society in the areas of politics, economics, and culture were immense. The nation will miss his wisdom and fatherly counsel at this time,” the statement read.
Senator Adeola also prayed for the peaceful repose of the late senator’s soul and urged his family, associates, and the people of Ogun State to find the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
