A woman identified only as Deborah has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly stabbing two women during a violent altercation in the Aiyetoro area of the state. The victims, Adebayo Omokehinde and Kolapo Aishat, sustained severe injuries in the attack, which occurred on January 30, 2025.

According to the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, the suspect allegedly used a broken bottle to stab the victims multiple times on their breasts, hands, eyes, and other parts of their bodies. The attack left both women in critical condition, and Deborah reportedly fled the scene immediately after the incident.

After nearly two weeks on the run, Deborah was apprehended by police officers on February 12, 2025. During interrogation, she confessed to the crime. Odutola stated, “The suspect has admitted to committing the crime, and medical reports have been issued to the victims, who were directed to a general hospital for urgent treatment.”

The police spokesperson added that investigations are ongoing, and the suspect will be charged in court upon their completion.

This incident follows another recent case of violence in the state. In January 2025, a 22-year-old woman, Iyanu Adedeji, allegedly stabbed her husband, Funsho Jimoh, to death in the Gbonogun area of Abeokuta. The suspect later turned herself in at a local police station.

The Ogun State Police Command has urged residents to resolve disputes amicably and avoid resorting to violence.

More updates to follow as the story develops.
