The Executive Chairman of Obafemi Owode Local Government, Ambassador Adesina ‘Lanre Ogunsola, has commended Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for the recent commissioning of the newly constructed Prof. Wole Soyinka Train Station Road in Abeokuta.

Speaking at the well-attended ceremony held at Laderin Junction on Tuesday, Ogunsola stated that the project is a clear testament to the governor’s commitment to infrastructural development across the state.
He emphasised that the presence of good governance is strongly felt in his council area, citing consistent project deliveries under the Abiodun administration.
The council chairman highlighted several other recently commissioned projects within Obafemi Owode, including the Siun-Owode/Ofada Road, Panseke-Adigbe Road, Arepo–Journalists’ Estate Road, and the Magboro-Makogi Road. He also noted ongoing initiatives such as the phased reconstruction of the Interchange–Papalanto Road and the development of a housing estate in Kobape.
Ogunsola further thanked the governor for supporting the local government’s own road construction efforts, such as the Ogidan-Geleodun Road.
Looking ahead, the chairman appealed for additional state support, describing Obafemi Owode as the business hub of Ogun State due to its proximity to Lagos and Oyo. He specifically requested the construction of Orimerunmu Road and the Kobape Township Road to further improve connectivity.
He urged residents to continue supporting the state government, affirming that Governor Abiodun is “determined to lift Ogun State to greater heights.”
The event was attended by government officials, community leaders, and residents of the local government area.
