The Executive Chairman of Ipokia Local Government, Hon. Avoseh Johnson Akohomeh, also known as Cornerstone, has stressed that the Ipokia Local Government Area is an epitome of unity in diversity because it is an abode to various nationals. He further stated that this unity has unlocked the potential of the county.
Hon. Avoseh made the above submission today, Tuesday, 2nd of September, 2025, when he received the executive of the Arewa Consultative Forum, Ipokia Local Government chapter, who came to pay him a courtesy visit.
While commending them for the visit, the council boss disclosed that the visit signifies that synergy exists between the Local Government and the Forum.
Hon. Avoseh hinged the uniqueness of Ipokia Local Government on its peaceful nature, describing it as the most peaceful Local Government in Nigeria. He added that development only thrives in a peaceful atmosphere.
The council chief also eulogised the Forum for extending a hand of fellowship to him. Hon. Avoseh sued for more cooperation and synergy between the various nationals and bodies and the Local Government.
In his short address, the Chairman of the Forum, Mallam Ghali Said Lawal, was full of gratitude to the Chairman for the warm reception they were accorded. He pledged more cooperation with the Local Government.
Corroborating the Forum Chairman’s address, Elder Michael Usman Mackay, the Forum Secretary, lauded Hon. Avoseh for his open-door policy. He further said that the visit is aimed at formally presenting the Forum to him.
Elder Mackay disclosed that Ipokia LG is highly accommodating and rewarding in all legitimate endeavours. He prayed for national peace and tranquillity. He also assured the Chairman that his people will continue to be peaceful, law-abiding, and resolve conflicts amicably.
Present during the visit were the LG Vice Chairman, Hon. (Mrs.) Olufunmilayo Okewole, the LG Secretary, Hon. Babajide Johnson Olusola, the Acting Head of LG Administration, Mr. Lukman Bakenne, the Director of Administration and General Services, Mr. Abiodun Adeogun, and the Administrative Officer, Mrs. Akindele Olaide. The Information Department was represented by Mr. Oyede Olusanjo Adewale.
