The Minister of Mines and Steel Development and an aspirant in the ongoing Ekiti state, All Progressives Congress  Governorship primary, Mr Kayode Fayemi, has called for the spirit of sportsmanship among the aspirants within the party, in the wake of the violence that disrupted last week’s inconclusive exercise.
Fayemi made this known while speaking on the sideline of the Ekiti State Governorship Primary holding at Damlek Event Centre, Ado Ekiti.
He said, “It is a competition; people devise all sorts of means when they are in a competition.
What is important is that after the exercise whoever emerges winner will be the candidate of the party and to my expectation, all of us will embrace whoever that person is.”
Giving an assessment of the ongoing exercise, Fayemi commended the Governor Tanko Al-Makura led election primary committee which he said had done “an incredibly good job.”
“It is a much better arrangement today, it is orderly, the instructions are clear, there is no rowdiness in any part of the exercise.
The committee has done an incredibly good job and the security is also tight. People who have no business are not allowed in. In all these, so far so good. But we can’t reach a conclusion until after the whole exercise.”

The Voting which commenced around 1:10 pm followed the accreditation of voters which was concluded around 12:25 pm.

The Chairman of the Ekiti APC Governorship Election Primary, Governor Tanko Al-Makura, announced that 2,326 delegates were accredited out of the total of 2618 delegate lists submitted to the committee.
