ABEOKUTA – Olukayode Adeola Sotayo, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has inaugurated a voter sensitisation campaign aimed at encouraging eligible residents of Ogun State to actively participate in the ongoing Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) registration exercise.
The initiative, designed to complement the efforts of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), underscores the importance of the PVC as a vital tool for citizens to influence the future of their communities and the nation at large.
In a statement, Mr. Sotayo emphasised the significance of voter participation, stating, “The PVC is more than just a card; it is the most powerful instrument we possess to build the Nigeria we want. Our future and the destiny of this great state rest in the hands of the people. This is our moment to rise, to be heard, and to cast our vote for progress, accountability, and good governance. I call on all eligible citizens, particularly our vibrant youth, to ensure they complete their registration and secure their PVC.”
According to details released by the initiative, INEC’s online pre-registration for the PVC commenced on August 18, 2025, while in-person registration at all INEC Local Government Area (LGA) offices across Ogun State will begin on August 25, 2025. The exercise will operate from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday to Friday.
The campaign reinforces the message that obtaining a PVC is the foundational step in fulfilling one’s civic responsibility, ensuring the right to elect leaders and demand accountability from them.
