ABUJA– November 22, 2025 – The Federal Ministry of Education has issued a strong disclaimer against a false message circulating on social media, warning the public to disregard what it describes as a “misleading” school closure alert.
In an official press release dated November 22, 2025, the Ministry categorically stated that a viral post alleging that schools nationwide are to shut down from Monday, 24th November, is a complete fabrication.
“The message… is false, misleading, and did not originate from the Federal Government, the Federal Ministry of Education, any State Ministry of Education or any recognised security agency,” the statement read.
The Ministry, through its Director of Press and Public Relations, Boriowo Folasade, has urged the public to rely exclusively on information from verified official channels. These include the Federal Government, the Federal Ministry of Education, State Governments, and recognised security agencies.
The notice also called on citizens to be vigilant against the spread of misinformation, advising that any announcements from unofficial or unverified sources “should be ignored and not shared.”
The public is encouraged to always verify the authenticity of such critical information with the relevant authorities before circulating it further.
