Iperu, Ogun State – In a surprising turn of events, Hon. Ladi Adebutu, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the 2023 general elections, has lost his polling unit to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in today’s by-election for Remo Federal Constituency.
Adebutu, who was supposed to cast his vote at Polling Unit 4, Ward 5 (Wesley Nursery and Primary School, Iperu, Ikenne LGA), saw his party defeated in his own stronghold as APC secured the majority votes and he didn’t come out to vote.
The by-election, which recorded a peaceful turnout, marks another setback for the PDP in Ogun State, raising questions about shifting political loyalties in the region.
