OGUN/OSUN STATE – A chilling tale of betrayal, ritual murder, and a botched cover-up has been unraveled by police in Osun State, leading to the arrest of multiple suspects, including a married man who allegedly masterminded the killing of his friend, a senior officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), and her young daughter.

The victims have been identified as Mrs. Lasisi Funmilayo and her daughter, Sewa.

The Fatal Trip

According to a detailed police source familiar with the investigation, the tragedy began on Sunday, November 2nd. Mrs. Lasisi, alongside a family friend identified as Victor Benjamin Fajemirokun, travelled from Ogun State to Osun State. The precise nature of their relationship and the pretext for the trip remain under investigation, though it is believed Victor, whose family resides in Osun, invited her.

Their destination was the den of a herbalist in Osun State. Upon arrival, Victor, the herbalist, and Mrs. Lasisi moved to a secluded area behind the property. It was there, investigators allege, that the woman was brutally murdered and dismembered into more than a dozen pieces.

In a heartbreaking detail, sources confirm that while the mother was being slaughtered, her young daughter, Sewa, was innocently playing outside with the herbalist’s children, completely unaware of the horror unfolding nearby.

The Double Murder and a Staged Kidnapping

After dismembering Mrs. Lasisi and removing body parts for alleged ritual purposes, the perpetrators disposed of her remains in a shallow river. The killers then turned their attention to the little girl.

The suspects led the child into a nearby bush, where she was also killed, and her body parts were removed. Her remains were left in the bush to decompose.

Victor, allegedly fearing detection, then orchestrated an elaborate ruse to cover his tracks. He faked his own kidnapping. He parked his car along the Ikire expressway in Osun State with the windows rolled down and the key left in the ignition before disappearing.

When his wife could not reach him for days, she began a search. On her way to a church Victor had mentioned visiting, she spotted his abandoned vehicle and immediately reported a kidnapping to the police.

The Police Investigation Unravels the Plot

The police, upon arriving at the scene, grew suspicious. “Our initial investigation and questioning of people in the area where the vehicle was found pointed to foul play,” a senior police officer involved in the case revealed.

A critical breakthrough came when police traced Victor’s phone records and discovered he had repeatedly called a specific number in the days leading up to his disappearance. The number belonged to a popular herbalist based in Osun State, known on the social media platform TikTok under the handle @abere.ifa13.

An undercover police officer was dispatched to the herbalist’s residence. However, the suspect reportedly received a tip-off and fled before he could be apprehended.

A manhunt was launched, leading police to track the herbalist’s phone to Ijebu-Ijesha. In a dramatic turn of events, a team of plainclothes tactical officers en route to arrest him had their vehicle break down. As they sought help, a man matching the herbalist’s description walked past. After a brief exchange, the officers became suspicious, confirmed his identity, and gave chase when he fled into the bush. He was apprehended after an hour-long pursuit.

Confessions and a Grisly Discovery

Under interrogation, the first herbalist confessed to his involvement in the murder of a woman but denied knowledge of the child. He directed the police to a second herbalist, an accomplice located in Ekiti State, who was subsequently arrested.

The two herbalists then led investigators to the bush where they had abandoned the remains of little Sewa.

The first suspect, @abere.ifa13, is a known figure on TikTok, with his posts now flooded with comments from a horrified public. The second alleged accomplice has also been identified in videos on the same TikTok page.

Police confirm that Victor Benjamin Fajemirokun has also been taken into custody. The suspects have allegedly confessed that Victor insisted on using the woman for rituals, claiming it was necessary for him to “make it in life.”

The investigation is ongoing as police work to complete the grim task of recovering all the victims’ remains and building a watertight case for prosecution.
