In a bid to address the rising concerns of drug abuse, the Chairman of Ijebu North East Local Government, Hon. Badejo Folusho, held a strategic meeting with officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Ogun State Command, on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.
The meeting focused on the harmful effects of cannabis, both short- and long-term, as well as available treatment options for individuals struggling with substance abuse. Hon. Folusho reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting the NDLEA’s efforts in enforcement, public enlightenment, and rehabilitation programs.
Both parties resolved to intensify awareness campaigns and strengthen enforcement measures to curb drug-related issues within the local government. The collaboration aims to create a safer and healthier community by addressing the root causes of drug abuse and providing support for affected individuals.
This initiative underscores the local government’s proactive approach to tackling societal challenges and fostering a drug-free environment for residents.
