The Iperu Indigenes Forum has extended its heartfelt congratulations to His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, Governor of Ogun State, and the entire Iperu Akesanland community on the recent certification of the Gateway International Airport, Iperu, by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Forum lauded the Governor, an illustrious son of Iperu Akesanland, for this milestone achievement. The certification is expected to place Iperu and Ogun State prominently on the global map, promising to transform the socio-economic landscape of Iperu and its neighbouring communities.
The statement was jointly signed by the Convener, Prince Ladi Olabinjo, and the Administrators, High Chief Barr. Ifasola Saheed Opeodu, the Oluwo of Iperu, and Otunba Adebayo Salami; as well as the Media Officer, Temitope Oyekan.
The Forum prayed for divine wisdom and strength for Governor Abiodun to continue advancing his “Building Our Future Together” agenda, guided by the ISEYA mantra.
While celebrating the imminent commencement of scheduled commercial flights at the airport, the Forum urged the Governor to prioritise constructing more intra-city roads to enhance local transportation and accommodate the anticipated increase in traffic. It also called for measures to ensure a stable and uninterrupted power supply.
The Forum also commended the Governor’s broader commitment to infrastructure development, especially the road linking the airport with the Sagamu/Benin Expressway; the reconstruction of the Siun-Ajura-Ogere-Iperu-Ilisan Road, which has commenced at the Iperu-Ilisan section; and the proposed Metro Rail Line (Purple Line) that will connect Mowe to Iperu.
Further applause was given for the Governor’s efforts in establishing the Special Agro Processing Zone (Industrial Remo Platform Free Zone). This initiative was highlighted by the upcoming groundbreaking ceremony for the largest garment factory in the region, which is scheduled for September 2025.
The statement concluded: “Your Excellency, please accept our warmest felicitations on this remarkable achievement and our commendation for the progress made in transforming Iperu and Ogun State into a hub of industrial and economic excellence.”
