Residents of the Magboro-Makogi community have commended the Ogun State Government for the ongoing construction of the 8.17-kilometre Magboro-Makogi Road, a project hailed as a significant infrastructural upgrade for the area.
The commendation came on Wednesday during an inspection tour of the project site by the State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Ade Akinsanya. Residents, who have long grappled with waterlogging and poor road conditions, expressed their appreciation for the quality and standard of the work, which features concrete interlocking.
Speaking on behalf of shop owners, Mr Uche Okoro and Alhaji Wasiu Sanusi praised Governor Dapo Abiodun for his commitment to infrastructural renewal. They noted that the project would enhance transportation, boost socio-economic activities, and bring lasting relief to commuters and business owners upon completion.
While reaffirming their support for the state government, the residents appealed to the contractor to expedite work to ensure the road is delivered on time, especially with the increasing traffic along the corridor.
Addressing journalists after the inspection, Commissioner Akinsanya stated that he had directed the contractor to accelerate construction and take full advantage of the dry season.
“The government is determined to ensure this project is delivered promptly and to the highest quality. With the rains now subsiding, I have instructed the contractor to intensify efforts so residents can begin to enjoy the benefits of this new road as soon as possible,” Engr. Akinsanya said.
The Project Manager, Mr Jason Zhang, confirmed that work is progressing steadily. He commended the cooperation of the residents and the state government, assuring that the project would be completed according to specifications and delivered on schedule.
