The Executive Chairman of Obafemi Owode Local Government, Ambassador Adesina ‘Lanre Ogunsola, has been conferred with the chieftaincy title of the Oluomo of Ijeun, Egbaland.



The honour was bestowed upon him by the traditional council of Ijeunland in recognition of his exemplary leadership and numerous achievements, particularly his recent recognition as the 3rd Best Local Government Chairman in Nigeria by the Local Governments Merit Award (LOGMA 2025).
The conferment ceremony was led by the Oluwo of Ijeun and Egbaland, Chief Edmund Adeyemi Adeboye, who was represented by the Odofin of Ijeunland, Chief Oluwafemi Folarin. Speaking on behalf of the council, the chiefs described Ogunsola as a proud and worthy son of Ijeunland whose accomplishments have brought honour to the community.
They expressed strong confidence that the Council Boss would excel in his new role as the Oluomo of Ijeunland, urging him to see the title as a call to greater service.
In his acceptance speech, Ambassador Ogunsola expressed profound gratitude to His Royal Majesty, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, Okukenu IV, the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, the Oluwo Ijeunland, and the entire council of chiefs for finding him worthy of the honour.
He assured them of his continued commitment to delivering more dividends of democracy to every part of Obafemi Owode Local Government and Egbaland at large.
The chairman also extended his appreciation to the Ogun State Governor, His Excellency, Prince Dr Dapo Abiodun, CON, for the opportunity to serve a second term, which he stated has enabled him to deepen his impact at the grassroots level. He enjoined the people to continue supporting his administration, affirming that “collectively we shall strive for excellence.”
The event was attended by several high-ranking chiefs, including Chief Isiaka Aremu Amodemaja, the Balofun of Ijemo. Fatia Badaru, the Jaguna of Ijeun.
