Odeda – The Chairman of Odeda Local Government, Hon. Folasade Adeyemo, PhD, has issued a warm commendation to Distinguished Senator Shuaib Afolabi Salisu (SAS) for initiating the construction of the long-abandoned Akomoje–Mauko–Opeji link road.
In a statement released today, Adeyemo hailed the project as a “bold and people-centred intervention” that addresses an age-long challenge plaguing communities across Abeokuta North and her own Odeda Local Government Area.
The chairman noted that for years, the deplorable state of the road had inflicted hardship on residents, severely hampering mobility, local trade, access to healthcare, and overall quality of life.
“By taking up this long-neglected project, Senator Salisu has once again demonstrated his commitment to translating representation into tangible development,” Adeyemo stated.
She emphasised that the intervention would ease transportation, stimulate commerce, enhance safety, and restore hope to the people, calling it “a clear testament to effective legislative advocacy and purposeful governance—a promise made and a promise kept.”
Adeyemo expressed profound appreciation on behalf of the people of Odeda Local Government and stakeholders across Ogun Central Senatorial District.
“We express profound appreciation to Senator Salisu for listening to the cry of the people and delivering lasting infrastructure that will serve generations to come,” she said.
The chairman concluded by congratulating the senator and voicing the community’s expectation for the timely completion of the project, alongside hopes for more impactful interventions in the future.
