Abeokuta – In a decisive move to tackle environmental challenges, the Ogun State Environmental Protection Agency (OGEPA) has inaugurated a special task force to ensure strict adherence to environmental laws and standards across the state.

The task force was officially inaugurated by the General Manager of OGEPA, Hon. Kehinde Bello, who underscored its crucial role in monitoring industrial activities and enforcing compliance.
Hon. Bello emphasized that environmental protection is fundamental to publiemphasisednd sustainable economic growth. He noted that Ogun State, as a major industrial hub, faces significant environmental pressures that require a collaborative approach involving government, businesses, and communities.
“The formation of this task force is a key component of our strategy to ensure adherence to environmental regulations, standards, and best practices,” Bello stated.
The newly inaugurated team is mandated to conduct routine inspections of industries, address environmental violations, and promote professional environmental practices statewide. The General Manager charged members with demonstrating high commitment and professionalism in discharging their duties.
This initiative forms a part of the state government’s broader efforts to promote sustainable development and improve environmental governance.
