The Ogun State Government (OGSG) has announced a two-week extension for property owners and occupiers affected by its ongoing audit exercise to submit their title documents.
The extension is intended to provide additional time for property owners and developers to present their planning permits or regularise unapproved developments with the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development and its agencies.
According to the government, this decision reflects its goodwill in response to appeals from affected property owners in Sagamu and Ijebu-Ode, while also reinforcing its commitment to the rule of law and transparency. Officials, however, clarified that the extension does not invalidate any prior constitutional or statutory actions taken on the matter.
The state government reiterated that the ongoing physical development audit in Sagamu, Ijebu-Ode, and other parts of Ogun State is not targeted at any individual or organisation. Instead, it emphasised that the exercise is part of a broader effort to ensure sustainable urban development across the state.
The statement was signed by TPl Olatunji Odunlami FNITP, Honourable Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, on August 13, 2025.
