The Edo South Support Group for Comrade Adams Oshiomhole says the coming of the immediate past governor of Edo state, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole as the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is a good omen to Nigeria and to the nation’s democracy.
Adams OshiomholeIn a statement made available to Journalists in Benin City, signed by its National Coordinator, Amb. Kaycee Osamwonyi, it noted that “Since the formal declaration of the immediate past Governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole, on Thursday, May 10, 2018 to contest the position of National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), a floodgate of interests have risen in unison to identify with a giant icon of peace, democracy and liberty.
“Significantly, the barrage of support cuts across Party divide, including State Governors and Party Leaders. It is instructive that Oshiomhole’s ambition equally enjoys the endorsement of President Muhammadu Buhari”.
According to the statement, “As all Party fateful look forward to June 23 when Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole would be enthroned as the National Chairman of the Party at the Eagles Square, Abuja, members of the Edo South Support Group for Comrade Adams Oshiomhole are joining forces with delegates of goodwill to actualize the dream of a man adequately positioned and endowed to competently take APC to the next level of progress.
“Taking this step would be the beginning of more good things for the people of Edo State and Nigeria in general. Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole means different things to different persons. To some, he is an icon, to others he is a national leader of incomparable stature, yet to some others, he is the man who introduced a new leadership concept as Governor of Edo State for eight years – leadership for sustainable development and a leadership style which is diffused, pluralistic and facilitative and not embedded in a sole heroic individual of his mold.
“More than anything else, what stood Comrade Oshiomhole out as an apostle of leadership for sustainable development was the fact that he continued to fix his gaze on the horizon from the planning stage of projects as Governor of Edo State.
“Given the platform therefore as National Chairman of the APC, Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole is well equipped with intimidating credentials and energy to check mate the ramblings of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which has become an irritant to the Buhari Administration” it stated.
