The Ogun State Chapter of the Association Of Local Governments Of Nigeria (ALGON), has raised the alarm over alleged plans by the state governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, to force them to support Hon. Akinlade.

According to an insider, “our exco were invited to meeting today by Hon. Commissioner  for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief Jide Ojuko, where we will be forced to sign prepared rejection letter against the winner of our governorship primaries and candidate of our party, of Prince Dapo Abiodun.”
The division rocking the ALGON may have attracted the attention of political watchers who are now waiting for the outcome of all panicky meetings that the governor has been using his commissioners and other aides to summon recently.
Ogun ALGON has been polarized recently, following the resolve of majority members of the Association to support Prince Dapo Abiodun.
While few members felt they should put in a word to support Governor Amosun, majority of the members, especially from Ogun East Senatorial Distric, where Dapo Abiodun hails from, have pitched their camp with the APC candidate.
They recalled how the governor, few months back, summoned them to Abeokuta  where he openly and thoroughly insulted, abused and cursed them for attending a meeting at the Iperu country home of Dapo Abiodun.
“It was only Dapo who gave us money for the state convention of the APC. It was also when Dapo gave us  money for the Itunu Awe festival that the governor now hurriedly sent us tokens”, the Chairman who pleaded anonymity said. Whatever communique we are forced to sign should be seen as fake and coerced and should be ignored by the public.”
Our correspondent also gathered that another meeting involving the Chairmen and Secretaries of the Consultative Advisory Committees (CAC) in the 20 LGs and 37 LCDAs will be hosted in Abeokuta tomorrow by Chief Jide Ojuko on the orders of Governor Amosun.
A text message was this afternoon sent out by the Director of Local Government Administration in the Ministry . The meeting was earlier slated for the house of the senior brother of the governor, Alhaji Abidoye Ibikunle, popularly called “Alhaji Agba”, for Friday. It was when the governor learnt of intending massive boycott by the invitees that a new venue was quickly chosen and the meeting brought forward. The text message sent out yesterday read: “THIS IS TO INFORM ALL CAC MEMBER OF IJEBU EAST L G THAT WE ARE TO MEET IN  ALH AGBA HOUSE IN ABEOKUTA ON FRIDAY 26TH OCT 2OI8 BY 9 AM ALL MEMBER ARE TO ATTEND THIS MEETING    THANKS.”
However, the new text message sent out by the Director of Local Government Administration  through her whatsapp number  +234 803 715 1815 read: “Im  directed by Hon Com for Lg / CA, Chief Jide Ojuko to invite all d CAC Chairmen and their Secretaries to an urgent and important meeting tomorrow Thursday 25th Oct, 2018 at 2.00pm prompt. The venue of d Meeting is Ile Igbimo awon Oba, Min of Lg $ CA, Oke Mosan, Abk. Pls attend punctually. DLGA”.
