President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has thrown his weight behind Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), effectively shutting down rumors of a leadership shake-up within the party’s National Working Committee (NWC). The President’s endorsement came during the APC National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held in Abuja, where key party stakeholders convened to discuss critical issues affecting the ruling party.

Sources at the meeting revealed that President Tinubu’s vote of confidence in Ganduje was a clear signal of continuity and stability within the party’s leadership. “The APC remains a party of structure, discipline, and vision. Under the leadership of Dr. Ganduje, we have seen strategic growth, and there is no need for a change,” Tinubu was quoted as saying during the session.

The President’s declaration comes amid speculations of internal wrangling and alleged plots by some party members to instigate leadership changes. Tinubu’s unequivocal support for Ganduje has effectively silenced opposition voices, reinforcing the message that the current NWC enjoys his full backing.

Since assuming office as APC National Chairman last year, Ganduje has been credited with repositioning the party, fostering unity, and ensuring its dominance across the country. His tenure has focused on strengthening internal democracy, enhancing grassroots participation, and consolidating the party’s governance at both federal and state levels.

Party stakeholders have hailed Tinubu’s endorsement as a strategic move to prevent distractions ahead of crucial electoral contests. A senior party chieftain, who attended the NEC meeting, stated, “With this reaffirmation, there is no vacancy in the NWC. Anyone nursing ambitions should wait for the appropriate time because this party is not run on sentiments but on strategy and loyalty.”

The NEC meeting, attended by APC governors, ministers, lawmakers, and other key stakeholders, also served as a platform to discuss strategies for upcoming elections and governance initiatives. The gathering underscored the party’s commitment to maintaining cohesion and focus as it prepares for future political challenges.

President Tinubu’s endorsement of Ganduje has solidified the APC’s leadership structure, ensuring that the party remains united and focused on its goals under the current NWC.
