The Executive Chairman of Ipokia Local Government, Hon. Johnson Akohomeh Avoseh, popularly known as Cornerstone, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Sanitarian Olatunji Olusegun Jelili, Director of Water Supply and Environmental Sanitation, as he retires after 35 years of dedicated service to Ogun State Local Government. The event, held at the Council Secretariat’s Conference Room, also recognized the transfers of the Council Treasurer, Mr Rotimi Opeodu, to Obafemi Owode Local Government and the Clerk of the House, Mrs Adegbenro Basirat, to Yewa South Local Government.
Represented by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Olufunmilayo Okewole, Hon. Avoseh commended Sanitarian Jelili for his exemplary service and urged staff, particularly those in the Department of Water Supply and Environmental Sanitation, to emulate his dedication and integrity. He also praised the Ogun State Governor, His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun CON, for his unwavering support to retirees across the state. Hon. Avoseh expressed gratitude to the Head of Local Government Administration, Mr. Emmanuel Senapon Pogbe, and the management team for organizing the valedictory ceremony.
In his remarks, Mr. Pogbe described Sanitarian Jelili as a selfless individual who prioritized the welfare of others. He also lauded the outgoing Council Treasurer, Mr. Rotimi Opeodu, for his exceptional financial expertise and invaluable contributions to the council. Mr Pogbe prayed for the retiree and the transferred officials, wishing them success and fulfilment in their future endeavours.
The event featured goodwill messages, prayers, and the presentation of gifts. It was attended by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Olufunmilayo Okewole; the Head of Local Government Administration, Mr Emmanuel Senapon Pogbe; the Council Treasurer, Mr Rotimi Opeodu; the Director of General Services and Administration, Mr Abiodun Adeogun; as well as all directors, heads of departments, and heads of units.
The ceremony concluded on a high note, celebrating the remarkable contributions of Sanitarian Jelili and wishing him a fulfilling retirement.
