The Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, has called on Christians to reflect their faith in their conduct, especially as they engage in governance at all levels.

Elemide made the appeal during a courtesy visit by Pastor Dayo Olusoga of *Heirs Church* to the Assembly Complex in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta. He emphasized the need for Christians to integrate biblical values into every aspect of their lives, including politics.

“If you are a Christian, it must reflect in your character. No religion preaches vices,” the Speaker stated. He expressed concern over some churches diluting their core principles to attract members, a trend he said has eroded the distinction between secular lifestyles and spiritual values among young people.

Elemide urged religious leaders to uphold integrity while guiding youths toward righteousness, advising them to emulate biblical figures like Peter, James, and John rather than Judas. He also encouraged Christians to view politics as a platform for positive character development and societal progress, stressing the importance of moral accountability and exemplary leadership.

Earlier in his remarks, Pastor Olusoga reiterated the church’s commitment to partnering with the government in promoting godly values and nation-building. He highlighted the role of the church in fostering societal growth through moral and spiritual discipline.

The cleric expressed the church’s readiness to collaborate with the government on initiatives aimed at societal transformation and national development.

The meeting underscored the importance of faith-based principles in governance and the collective responsibility of religious and political leaders in shaping a morally upright society.
