Ipokia, Ogun State – The Executive Chairman of Ipokia Local Government, Hon. Avoseh Johnson Akohomeh, also known as “Cornerstone,” has issued a strong warning to newly deployed officers of the Ogun State Security Network Agency (Amotekun Corps), Ipokia Command, to refrain from harassing and victimising traders in the local government area.
The Chairman delivered the charge today, Tuesday, August 5, 2025, while receiving the fresh officers at the council secretariat. He specifically instructed the new corps members not to mount roadblocks, which he said would “constitute a barrier and hardship to the free flow of people and goods.”
Hon. Avoseh also appealed to the officers to foster a cordial and warm relationship with the local populace, urging them to see the residents as their own relatives. He emphasised the importance of community trust and cooperation in ensuring effective security.
While congratulating the officers on their new appointments, the Chairman advised them to stay away from drug abuse, stressing that the use of drugs is “dangerous to both their health and career.”
The officers were formally presented to the Chairman by the Coordinator of the Ipokia Command of the Agency, Oladosu Daniel. The presentation was witnessed by several local government officials, including Local Government Secretary, Hon. Babajide Olushola Johnson; Head of Local Government Administration, Mr. Emmanuel Pogbe; Special Adviser, Hon. Fagbenro Musa; Special Adviser on Special Duties, Hon. Moruf Junaid; and Hon. Sosoedo Amos, Supervisor in charge of Water Supply and Environmental Sanitation.
Other officials in attendance were Hon. Akindele Lukmon, Supervisor in charge of Agriculture; Hon. Adelabu David, Special Adviser on Community Development, Youth and Sports; and Hon. Hunpe Peter, Special Adviser on Political matters.
