……Lawmaker Insists Facilitated Initiatives Align With Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda
The media office of Senator Solomon Adeola (APC, Ogun West) has issued a robust response to the Ogun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over recent comments questioning the value of constituency projects facilitated by the lawmaker.
The statement, signed by Chief Kayode Odunaro, Media Adviser to the Senator who also chairs the Senate Committee on Appropriations, described PDP’s criticism of the 102 transformers distributed across 435 Community Development Areas in Ogun State as “whimpering” and “egoistic calculations” divorced from addressing real societal needs.
“Senator Adeola has consistently presented all facilitated projects and empowerment programs as part of his constitutional responsibilities, never as personal favours,” the statement emphasised. It noted that all project signposts and documentation clearly use the term “facilitated” and feature the images of President Bola Tinubu, Governor Dapo Abiodun alongside the Senator’s portrait.
The response characterised PDP’s position as “a lame duck quixotic thesis,” maintaining that the opposition party failed to deliver comparable projects during its tenure in government. “The Senator owes no apology for effectively representing his constituents where previous officeholders failed,” the statement declared.
Highlighting the strategic importance of the transformer initiative, Senator Adeola’s office framed it as evidence of what experienced legislators can achieve through proper budget advocacy and implementation oversight. The statement challenged PDP representatives to emulate such tangible deliverables in their own constituencies.
The media office reiterated Senator Adeola’s commitment to continuing his advocacy for Ogun West’s inclusion in national development plans, promising to “defend allocations and ensure proper implementation” in alignment with the federal government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The statement concluded by thanking constituents for their support while calling for sustained collaboration to address developmental challenges across Ogun State.
