In a move aimed at improving educational infrastructure, Hon. Olufemi Ogunbanwo, Member of the House of Representatives for Ijebu-Ode, Odogbolu, and Ijebu North East Federal Constituency, has commenced the construction and renovation of selected school buildings across the area.
The projects, which include St. Luke Primary School, Imodi-Ijasa; Moraika Comprehensive High School; and St. Michael’s Primary School, Ododeyo in Ijebu North East Local Government, are designed to upgrade dilapidated classrooms, repair damaged roofs, and improve overall learning conditions.
During an inspection visit to one of the sites, Hon. Ogunbanwo emphasised the importance of a conducive environment for learning.
“Our children are the future, and investing in their education is not optional. These renovations are meant to restore dignity to our public schools and motivate both pupils and teachers,” he stated.
The intervention focuses on structural upgrades, improved ventilation, and the creation of safer, more comfortable classrooms to enhance academic performance.
The lawmaker assured constituents that the projects will be closely monitored to ensure timely completion and quality delivery. He also revealed that plans are underway for further educational support, including the provision of learning materials and teacher assistance.
This initiative follows earlier interventions at Molipa High School in Ijebu Ode, Ogbogbo Baptist Grammar School in Ijebu North East, and Ikangba Comprehensive High School in Odogbolu.
The renovation exercise is expected to be completed in phases, with more schools set to benefit as the project progresses across the federal constituency.
