ABEOKUTA – In a show of political engagement, Rt. Hon. Olumide Osoba, the federal lawmaker representing Abeokuta North, Obafemi Owode, and Odeda Federal Constituency, publicly revalidated his membership with the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday at his Owode Ward in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area.

The event was part of the ongoing nationwide APC online e-registration and membership revalidation exercise, designed to update the party’s register and integrate new supporters.

Osoba was received by a delegation of local party chieftains, including the Obafemi Owode Local Government APC Chairman, Hon. Soneye Damilola, and a prominent leader, Chief Emmanuel Olude. They were joined by ward executives, field officers, and a crowd of enthusiastic party members.

The registration was conducted by the designated ward agent, Comrade Asade Enitan Olakunle, with officials on hand to ensure the process remained smooth and transparent for all attendees.

Addressing members and the press after completing his revalidation, the federal representative emphasised the exercise’s core objective: inclusivity and strengthening the party’s foundation. “This revalidation is crucial for consolidating our ranks. I want to assure everyone that no genuine supporter of our great party will be left out,” Osoba stated. He added that the exercise is a vital step in mobilising grassroots support ahead of future electoral contests.

The APC initiative is open to both new members and existing ones aged 18 and above, aiming to create a comprehensive and verified digital database of its membership. Local leaders described the turnout in Owode as robust, indicating sustained party loyalty in the constituency.

Political observers note that the public participation of figures like Osoba is strategically significant, aiming to galvanise broader member turnout and demonstrate unity within the party’s local structure.
