ABEOKUTA – Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering quality infrastructure designed to “stand the test of time.”

The Governor made the declaration on Tuesday during the commissioning of the newly remodeled and ultra-modern Executive Council Chambers at the Governor’s Office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

Lamenting the previous state of the building, Governor Abiodun described it as having been in “total decay and an embarrassment.” He explained that the decision to remodel the existing structure, rather than construct a new one, was a deliberate one.

“Investors will not be in doubt of our seriousness when they see new things in the State,” Abiodun stated, linking the project to his government’s broader regeneration agenda.

The newly unveiled chambers are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including a modern public address system, individual monitors for council members, three large television screens for live discussions, and enhanced executive seating and lighting.

Governor Abiodun highlighted that the project is part of a wider urban renewal programme, which also includes the facelift of major landmarks like the Ibara Government Reservation Area (GRA). He emphasized that these efforts align with the vision to create an enabling environment for public service and long-term development.

The event was witnessed by former Governor of the state, Chief Olusegun Osoba, whom Abiodun praised as an “enigma” and a “founding father” whose experience continues to benefit the state.

In his remarks, Chief Osoba applauded the governor for the ongoing transformation across Ogun State, expressing particular delight at the regeneration of the Ibara GRA and describing the new Executive Council Chambers as world-class.

This project adds to a list of recent urban renewal achievements under the Abiodun administration, including the remodeling of the MKO Abiola Stadium and the Cultural Centre.
